The Cass Report V
Issue #5 - Winter Solstice - 21st December 2025
wassup
Hello again dear readers! Welcome to the i-left-it-to-the-day-before edition of The Cass Report. It is currently the 20th of December, and I've only just started writing. Oops! But leaving things till the very last minute is a long-practiced habit of mine and i prevail always.
Disaster has struck previous editions of TCR. In response to the online safety act, imgur, who i have used to host all the images for these, have completely blocked their site in the UK. VERY funny. If you go back and look at previous issues now, you'll see them gutted of all their pictures.

Fuck!!! I'll fix it at some point. As is common for someone of my studiousness (i read approx. three books this year) I am reminded of a poem:
I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said-"Content not viewable in your region"
Of course, you can still see all the images with a VPN, although you have to be a real freak to have one of those. Are you trying to look at porn or something?!? You make me sick.
...
I recommend mullvad

Mag!!!
ok so long story short i'm poly now. but only a little bit! i have two partners and that's enough. you've all met Bronwen before so now meet Mag!!! the circumstances of our meeting shall remain mysterious (if you know you know. why do so many of you know?!?). mag lives down in brighton, so as well as taking eachother to all of our favourite places in our respective cities, we've bonded over old web stuff (check out mag's website holy shit!!!), music (like certain albums of the season...), and spooky internet horror (check out saiko the large family for the funniest mockumentary presenter you've ever seen and a great mystery to boot).
we've been meeting up for about 6 months (eagle-eyed readers may remember Mag being mentioned in entry 75 of TCR#4, and i wrote entry 26 on the bus home from hers <3) and got official with it on october 22nd. we stayed up all night talking for 7am, and might have lost that date if not for spotify wrapped's ai finding our all-night music sesh notable. cute as fuck, right???!!!

Bron!!! (and Fatboy Slim???)
just to clarify: i am not also dating fatboy slim. we did see his bare feet though if that counts for anything.
me and Bron have also been up to things! Bron, along with certified travel experts Raphi and Diana put together a trip to Bristol for a SECRET gig, the artist not revealed to me until the security dude at the front said "Fatboy Slim has two sets", one of which was (right here) right now, so we got straight to going fucking wiiiiiild. and technically we saw Fatboy Slim twice!!! VERY AWESOME great big warehouse rave with crazy wacky visuals right up the front (Bron loves being at the front) so we got to see him at his DJ decks with shoes OFF and socks nowhere to be seen. put them away man.
also Bron is very hotly bald as fuck (but with little alien antennas) right now. secretly their best hair yet, and that's a very high bar. seeing them in one (1!!!) day for christmas fuck YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Skeleton of the Season
why did I do this bit again? I don't encounter skeletons fucking anywhere. oh right it's because they're BAD ASS.
uhhh this time it's some skeleton earrings i bought at tiger for halloween. yes this is just an excuse to show off my sexy vampire costume/makeup.

brief aside: TCR V was meant to be a halloween issue which i kinda started putting together a little bit, but was mainly just gonna be about movies. i just thought it would be cool to have a big bloody V in there. maybe i'll get my shit together for TCR X.
Double aside, this halloween party was super good fun (thanks Max and Grace for hosting!!!) with the highlight being Edd, who came as, get this, a tory MP, and didn't break character ONCE. holy shit. he was having phone calls and shit. i was in hysterics for 90% of this party.
Album of the Season
this autumn I have been listening OBSESSIVELY to Lorde's Solar Power (catching up with Mag's vinyl collection). in AUTUMN you say?!? for this very obviously summery album? well the album is just THAT good. love it. addicted. warm and breezy, lightly psychedelic, sounds coming and going like waves, acoustic guitar plucked over washed out electronic, floating on clear water so still and warm that it might not be there at all...
anyway so Album of the Season is Caroline Polachek's Desire I Want To Turn Into You

ok that's all
i've been a busy bee, and this is about as much as i could manage to put together in the two (still very busy!) days i had left. happy solstice and merry christmas!
